I'll Come Home

I begin my dreary trudge
Through the paved desert.
It’s so hard to walk when half of me is with you.
I’d rather walk the streets of the fairy kingdom which I long to call home.
My footsteps echo on the pavement.
Thud shuffle thud shuffle
As I drag the half of me that stayed with you.
Your heart must be bigger than mine.
My chest swells whenever this heart thinks about Us.
That must be why you always feel so empty.
I notice your absence.
It is not an emotional distance,
It is a distance we both feel.
It is nothing compared to the love I feel for you.
I will trade this paved desert for a home in a paved jungle.
And then I will come back to you.
I’ll come home.
I promise I’ll come home.

Heart Song

There’s a song in my heart

That I’m dying to sing

A song in my heart just for you

No one’s written the song

I am patiently waiting

Sing me the song in my heart.

There’s a song in my heart

Someone’s coming along

To inspire and sing it with me.

It’s unwritten as yet

So I borrow from others

Their love song- the sweet melody.

I send them to you

To suss out what you think

And prepare all the while for our own

There’s a song in my heart that I’m dying to sing

It’s a song that I sing just for you.

If you are the one for whom my song is meant, you know the words too.

Sing me the song in my heart.

Precious Seconds

Precious Seconds

She can count her time with him in precious seconds

And even though it hurts,

Because they are at the beginning,

And they can’t look back and say it was easy,

Worth it, and that they’d do it again,

It is- Worth it.

He fills every hole in her heart,

Because he is with her,

They are We

They are complete.
